Fulfilling the Duty

Opening, closing prayer at meetings
If your unit is all one faith then you should feel free to address God by the name your faith uses.  If your unit is comprised of multiple faiths, or you are unsure of the faiths of your Scouts, you should use generic prayers and titles - God, Akela, Great Spirit, Great Scoutmaster, etc.  Visit the Scouts' Own section for ideas on prayers.

Grace before meals
Often short and simple, graces serve as an excellent reminder to the Scouts to be thankful to God.  Visit the Scouts' Own section for ideas on graces.

Scouts’ Own Service on campouts
Visit the Scouts' Own section for ideas for services.

Scoutmaster conference, board of review, Cubmaster minutes
Anytime you talk to a Scout or Scouts is an excellent time to remind them of their duty to God.  During a board of review or Scoutmaster conference, ask them what "A Scout is Reverent" means to them.  Ask them how they are fulfilling their duty to God.  Encourage them to practice their faith to the fullest.

Religious inclusiveness & diversity (meals, holidays, generic interfaith prayers)
A little courtesy and common sense goes a long way promoting inclusiveness & diversity.  Remember the Golden Rule.  Treat your Scouts as you would want to be treated.  If you have Scouts of faiths that require certain dietary restrictions then plan your meals accordingly.  At the very least have appropriate alternatives available.  Plan your meetings around their religious holidays.  If you don't know about their diets or holidays - ask.

Religious Awards Programs
Encourage all Scouts to earn the emblem of their faith.  Visit the Religious Emblems section for more information.
