Valesadonia
Campaign
History
of the Ages Before the Dark
The Ancient One has existed
since the beginning of time. He grew
bored and created the gods and goddesses for his amusement. They in turn became bored, and they created
Valesadonia for their amusement. The Age
of Gods had begun.
At first, the creatures and
peoples of Valesadonia relied on the gods and goddesses for everything. The deities gradually grew lazy and
complacent and the peoples slowly started becoming self-reliant though still
savage and uncivilized. Thus began the
Barbarian Age.
The humanoids of Valesadonia
started forming communities. They
learned to work the land and to build.
Then the great flying reptiles attacked.
The dragons enslaved the humanoids and set themselves up as gods. Valesadonia entered the Age of Dragons.
People started to resist the
dragons. They organized and chose strong
leaders who led them in the fight against the reptiles. As the dragons were killed or driven away,
the people started to form kingdoms. The
Age of Kings had begun.
History
of the Dark and Golden Ages
The Dark Age began a thousand years ago. Migulac, Seer of Zion, advisor to King Inmon, built a secret network of spies and thieves. Under Migulac’s orders they scoured the land in search of magical treasure of a sinister nature. His agents also formed alliances with evil humanoid races.
Once
he was confident that everything was ready, Migulac
ordered his forces to strike and the Dark Age began. Upon King Inmon’s
murder Migulac seized the throne of
Faced
by a common enemy the nations of humans, elves, and dwarves were forced to form
an alliance. For the first time in
history these races were working together for a common purpose. Lead by the human warrior Steuben they met
the enemy on the Plains of Gruen. The battle raged for five days. When it was over Migulac’s
forces were victorious. There were very
few survivors who escaped. All who were
captured were either tortured to death or fed to hideous beasts that the enemy
had used to break the
It
was about this time that it is believed that Kalla
was born. There is much disagreement as
to his birth and childhood. Most believe
him to have been human despite the claims from the elves that he was one of
them. Most legend has it he was raised

In
the twenty-third year of Migulac’s reign, a small
band of heroes led by Kalla stole their way into the
Castle Zion. There they faced Migulac directly.
Using a magical sword, Kalla defeated Migulac. He then
destroyed the evil items the wizard had accumulated. With their leader dead, the monstrous forces
fell into chaos. The
Kalla disappeared nine years later.
There are some who say he died and was laid to rest in the earth. Others claim he traveled across the sea or
that he wandered the dead coast, possibly even crossing over to the frozen
north. Still others claim he was
recalled by the gods and left this plane to be with them. What is known is that without Kalla, the
History
From Anarchy
After the disappearance and
possible death of Kalla, Valesadonia fell into
chaos. The Age of Anarchy saw the
collapse of civilizations. Everyone
argued over who should take Kalla’s place as
king. War soon erupted throughout the
land. Alliances fell apart. Racial and cultural hatreds once again became
common place.
As the fighting spread,
factions divided into smaller factions.
Soon there was no government. No
law. No order. As civilization broke down armed groups of
bandits began pillaging the land. Raids
by orcs, goblins, and the like became common
place. Cities that were once the center
of commerce and enlightenment became pits of violence and despair. Fields that once were full of crops were now
full of battle dead. Once
peaceful forests were filled with the sound of killing and dying.
Gradually the forces of good
began to regain control. They retook the
cities and built new ones. As their
power increased they formed kingdoms and Valesadonia entered the Age of
Rebirth.
Eventually, the world reached
the political and geographic state we know today, and the Modern Age began.
